Why I Created Adventure Enlightenment
My connection to the outdoors began in the longleaf pine forests of Southwest Georgia.
I grew up hunting, and I regularly ventured into the Appalachian foothills of North Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee for hiking and mountain biking.
Over the past decade, I have visited national parks and other natural recreation areas across the country with my family. Along the way, hiking has become my favorite outdoor pursuit.
My love of the outdoors is something I want to share with my family and steward for future generations. But Adventure Enlightenment is about more than spending time outside. It is about recognizing what these experiences can teach us—and carrying those lessons home.
I learned long ago that outdoor adventures create mental space. Quiet and beautiful places allow us to decompress, reconnect with what matters, and see our problems and opportunities from a different perspective.
